Frequently asked questions
Questions on digital signage that we get asked.. A LOT!
General Questions (10)
Digital signage software allows you to remotely manage digital signage screens in a central location, allowing you to build and control a network of digital signage screens in one place.
The possibilities are endless, digital signage screens can be used anywhere in your business, or even at home. Digital signage software can be applied for digital outdoor advertising screens, also known as digital out of home (DOOH) in retail, or the service industry. Digital menu boards are also common as well as information monitors. What you do with your screens is totally up to you.
To start off, you need any HD TV/Monitor, a media player and an account with us… oh and you’ll need internet connection
It’s very simple. All you need is a media player and any HDTV and access to the PosterBooking platform. Once you create an account on the platform, you can synchronise your chosen media player (we recommend an Amazon Firestick) to the dashboard. All you have to do then, is to upload your content on the dashboard, and it will automatically synchronise onto your device.
You can use any android based device, however for the best value, we recommend using an Amazon Firestick 4K or Fire TV Stick Lite for using digital signage platform.
PosterBooking allows you to display images and videos (which can also include sound) on your screens, we also have apps that can be displayed on you screens.
No. Even your granny can get it set up.
The world is your oyster, you can run as many screens as your heart desires.
We have an online customer chat. You can also send us an email and we will respond as soon as we can.
It’s the Bees Knees.
Functionality (9)
Yes, you can choose to have ‘landscape mode’ or ‘portrait mode’ screens. You can choose the orientation of the screen when you add a new one on the dashboard, you can also edit the orientation of an existing screen.
Your content is uploaded on to the cloud, and also cached on your device, which allows the screen to run without internet connection.
In most cases, yes, however it would depend on your hardware. Contact us for more information.
You’ll need internet connection to upload content onto your media player. As soon as your content is uploaded to the device (you can test this by viewing the content on your TV), you can run the screens without connection to the internet. You will however need internet connection again should you wish to update the content on the screens.
You can upload as many media assets as you wish, the sky is the limit.
For fair usage there is a limit of 30mb for file sizes, compressing and optimising the files sizes will run better and smoother on your devices.
For images we recommend up to 4mb. For videos we recommend up to 25mb.
You can upgrade your account to enable the file size limit to 300mb, if you need. If you file sizes are bigger, which tend to be for videos, we recommend trimming your videos into separate files.
For images we recommend .JPG files. For video we recommend .MP4 files.
We recommend using Amazon FireStick TV, Firestick 4K or Fire TV lite for our digital signage screens. Amazon Firesticks are the most cost effective digital signage players on the market, and are easily accessible to buy. If you intend to build a network of screens we recommend Android Devices, which allow more control using Mobile Device Management software.
Your content is automatically cached onto the media player, and will run as soon as you start up your screen again.
Because we realise internet connection is never reliable, so cached content works as a back up.
The web player does not support active status and screen monitoring. The web player is best for testing, and we do not advise using the web player in a live environment. Although you can use the web player in a live environment, we advise using the Android app or Firestick app, in order to use PosterBooking to its full potential.
Content Management (5)
This is essentially what our digital signage platform allows you to do. You can add screens, manage content, create playlists and schedule screens from anywhere in the world, as long as you have access to the internet.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
Yes. Once you create a playlist, you can set it to run constantly, or choose the times you want it to play.
You can use our dashboard through a mobile browser. We don’t have a native app yet, simply because there is really no need for one.
Not at the moment, but there are plans to choose different types of transitions.
Pricing (8)
You can activate a 30-day free trial to use our pro services, from the dashboard.
Payments are processed using a subscription with Stripe. They say they’re pretty secure, we believe them.
No, dont abuse it. The only way we can help you grow, is if you help us grow. We have software that can recognise abuse in the system.
We offer FREE online support, but if you want extra special privileges which include screen monitoring, remote diagnostics and remote reboots, there is an additional £99 GBP per screen per month charge. If you want field support, that would depend on your location.
We’ll send you an email with a reminder for payments.
